Wine Tour – Special Offers & New Wines

We hope you can join us for our next Wine Tour, on Saturday 10 July at 18:45. Wine Tour is a Wine Tasting package we invented many years ago, which we adapted with great success during lockdown.

This online tasting showcases six wines, five of which come with an enhanced discount.  The sixth is a sublime new 2013 Barolo from the ‘Liste’ MGA (Menzione Geografica Aggiuntiva = the equivalent to the French cru; in this case a single vineyard). Our winemaker here is Damilano.

The Tasting Pack

Your delicious Tasting Pack contains the wines, cured meats, cheeses, olives and grilled vegetables.  Tell us your dietary  requirements at checkout, and we will be very happy to adjust the contents for you. The Tasting Pack also includes tasting notes and Zoom login codes. You can buy your samples in 50ml, 100ml, 375ml and full-size bottles.

The Wine Tasting

This Wine Tour will focus on Northern Italy. First we visit the Veneto, with two Soaves from Marinella Camerani. Then, from Emilia Romagna, a delightful Colli di Rimini, made with the rare Rebola (Pignoletto) grape. After that, our Tour moves onto Piemonte, and a rich Nebbiolo rosé from the Cabutto estate. Next comes another rarity, a Freisa from Mascarello. Finally the Barolo to finish in style.  You can see the bottles, prices and more details in the tab below.

Wine Tour is a great way of connecting with friends and family around the country.   Furthermore, the Tasting Packs we send by courier are beautifully packaged and make a lovely gift.

We always prefer to leave the microphones on during our presentation, to make it as participatory as possible.  We encourage questions and comments.  When we do hit the mute button, it is only ever to remove background noise which can disrupt the microphone.

Wine Tour is a fun event, suitable for the beginner and the experienced taster alike.  We love sharing our knowledge of Italian wine and opening bottles for you to try. Deli pack

Containing a selection of cheeses, cured meats, olives and grilled vegetables from the legendary Cuculo counters. The Deli Pack is included free of charge where full-size bottles are purchased.

Additional deli packs for two cost £5.50. These packs are small tasters to accompany the wines – if you’d like to order something more substantial, our deli boards cost £8 for one or £15 for two and can be included with your Tasting Pack. Drop us a line.

Deposit

The price includes a bottle deposit (£1 for 50ml and 100ml bottles; £2 for 375ml) which is fully refundable on safe return of the bottles in reusable condition.  If you’d prefer to hang on to your bottles, that’s fine by us.

NB – the pack of full-size bottles does not require a deposit.

Wine Tour dates to 2007 and our early days in the wine industry.  At the regular exhibitions and wine fairs we attended, we found that our presentations were better than those of the businesses around us. We would usually end up with a big crowd of customers enjoying our wines and what we were telling them.

At the time we didn’t have deep pockets to splash out on large quantities of free samples – but of course we also didn’t want to turn away customers, either – so we created a product out of the presentation.  That is how Wine Tour was born.  The customers were very happy to pay for it, and we were happy to be able to present and sell our wines.

Our range then was much smaller than it is now, so the format has changed, but the name has stuck, and continues to represent the innovative streak which has always characterised our business.

Collections

You will need to collect your Tasting Pack from Cuculo Cheese & Wine, 69 High Street, Heathfield TN21 8HU on the morning of Saturday 10 July.

Deliveries

To ensure timely arrival, we ship Tasting Packs on the Wednesday, so please be sure somebody is there to receive the delivery on Thursday. Our standard courier rate is £10, but remote areas of the UK should check pricing and timing before placing your order.

Tasting Packs sent by courier are beautifully presented, and make a delightful gift.
